Summary
There was a select group of people who lived a long time
ago. They were a good people, scattered throughout the land. In
the land far away, there were, coming and going, about twelve
to twenty people who led the movement – good, honest and
sincere people. They lived close to each other for a while.
Then they gradually began to separate themselves one at a time
and scattered themselves all over their world. They had for
many centuries almost a world-wide government that ruled over
them. Their government had a hardened army and other countries
did not want to fight them. However, the empire did fight and
conquered many countries. It was called the Roman Empire and
was prophesied centuries ahead of time in the Bible. Even
though the Roman Empire was prophesied to be a key player
during the time of Christ most Christians today do not know or
understand the role they played during the unfolding of the
“New Testament” times. The events that occurred
influenced the writers and the writing of the scriptures. Ron
McRay, in “Don’t Worry About It Right Now,”
gives a broad overview of what kind of world the Apostles lived
in during the 1st century. They often mentioned different
events that were occurring and sometimes those events were the
fulfillment of prophecies centuries before. This book will give
greater insight and more understanding when trying to piece
together the big picture of the times of Christ and his
disciples **
