Summary
Because the public has a right to examine his so-called
grand design theory of the universe. Bestselling author Pierre St. Clair documents the failings
of Hawking's new thesis via 64 renowned physicists. Each in-depth analysis reveals inconsistencies with
Hawking’s explanations:
All research must stand up to exacting scrutiny.
Dr. Neil Turok – Director of the
Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics Cosmology doesn’t thrive on uncertainty.
"I would rather have questions that can't be answered than
answers that can't be questioned."
This is unjustifiable because unproven hypotheses are simply
ideas, hopes, and aspirations. NASA physicists admit that dark matter and dark energy are
unknown factors which together comprise 96% of the universe.
Stephen Hawking portrays his grand design theory as
scientific; that it's supported by evidence.
“As a scientist and as an educator, I like the idea
that we believe things because there’s evidence.”

physics and cosmology. It may challenge your beliefs, or maybe
not, but it's a fascinating read in either case."

Stephen Hawking On Trial
is compelling reading for anyone with an
interest in physics and cosmology. It may challenge your
beliefs, or maybe not, but it's a fascinating read in either
case.
"SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT" Hawking and a few others are doing a disservice to science
by exaggerating what we know and therein confusing the public.
This book sets the record straight.
"THE ORIGINS OF COSMOLOGY" This is the first book that has assembled the origins of
cosmology as evidence like opposing counsels. Readers can weigh
testimonies as a judge who demands rigorous arguments and
proofs. St. Clair has the detached presence of mind to act as
both scales of justice.
Bestselling author Pierre St. Clair focuses on anomalies in
cosmological theories. Recently he won the prestigious Sir J.
C. Bose Award for Investigative Journalism in the field of
Science and Technology for his book Cosmology on Trial.
Although born in London, at five years of age his family
emigrated to Canada. His mother was a cultured lady who sent
him for violin and music theory lessons when he was only six.
As a teenager his interest in classical violin dwindled. He
bought his first guitar, taught himself how to play, formed a
band, and began performing locally. Within a few short years he
was touring throughout Canada and the US. Music was always his
first love, and remains so. His journalism career began as a
result of a college girlfriend's mother predicting his success
as a writer. The daughter of a missionary in Shanghai, she had
grown up in China and pursued an interest in the occult
sciences, including palmistry. One Saturday afternoon she asked
to see his hand. After a few minutes study she predicted, "One
day you'll become an accomplished writer." QUOTES FROM THE
AUTHOR "I love digging behind the scenes to find out what is
really happening beneath the headlines. That's why I became an
investigative journalist." "Current theories about the origin
of the universe lack verifiable data. In spite of this, many
ideas masquerade as relevant theories and compete for greater
elegance just like beauty pageant contestants." "COSMOLOGY ON
TRIAL" The book is an all-inclusive overview of cosmology that
introduces the reader to unexplained and unsolved mysteries of
the universe which are rarely discussed in Academia. The author
reveals that Newtonian physics, General Relativity, Quantum
Mechanics, and String Theory have still not proven whether
Gravity is a wave, a graviton particle, or even a fabric of
spacetime. Gravity, the most common force in nature, is not
even included in the Standard Model of Physics. NASA physicists
admit that 96% of the matter and energy in the universe is a
mystery. Can today's cosmology be complete if science only
understands 4% of the universe? REVIEWS "Scientific progress
and complacency go ill together, and St Clair has done a superb
job in actually advancing the cause of real science." M. Lyons
- USA "This book simply makes the very strong point that our
cosmology of yesteryear was not based on solid evidence, and
our cosmology of today isn't either." V. DiCara - JapanThe genius of the wee Doctor behind the electronic voice on
trial?
Stephen Hawking's influence has been significant, so why
put his new theory on trial?
• Hypotheses that completely lack support by data are
being promoted as a relevant theory
• The three questions that are never discussed but
deserve real answers
• What we factually know, but more importantly, what
Hawking has failed to include in his understanding of the
universe
Evaluating a theory is the foundation of the scientific method.
Evidence must be beyond a reasonable doubt – the
rationale that jurors, scientists, and logical people use to
settle an issue. This book uncovers a critical roadblock in today's
astrophysics
"Theoretical physics is at a crossroads right now…In
a sense we’ve entered a very deep crisis.”
Hawking's grand design thesis only increases the uncertainty.
Impartial investigators can legitimately challenge:
“Let’s have a look at your evidence.”
Dr. Richard Feynman – eminent physicist
acclaimed for his work in quantum electrodynamics, the parton
model of particle physics, and the physics of superfluidity of
supercooled liquid heliumGravity is the most common force in nature
Stephen Hawking On Trial
challenges physicists who misapply gravitation to
support and promote unproven hypotheses as genuine theory.
Physicists readily admit they only understand 4% of the
universe.
Yet
Professor Hawking declares on a national TV
broadcast, “The scientific account is complete."
Can our scientific account of the cosmos be complete if we only
understand 4% of the universe?
Most physicists will agree that our present understanding of
the laws of physics are far from settled, so there is
legitimate cause for Hawking's grand design theory to stand
trial.
But his "evidence" is mostly a cloud of caveats and
probabilities - none of which are supported by empirical
data.

Of course, posting ad hominem comments with no supporting
evidence is the method of neophytes, not physicists.
The ad hominem attacks show an inability to address the points
that leading physicists present in their arguments.
Clearly, these people haven't read the book so they have lost
all credibility.
