Summary

Cyprus is a Mediterranean island that is located at the intersection of three continents. Greeks first settled on the island around 1600 B.C. Despite many conquerors and near extinction, the Greek population of the island persists to today. Three notable Hellene Cypriots put their life on the line for modern Hellas ( Greece). Their life, achievements and times are highlighted in this book.
The Cyprus-born, United States educated author puts all that together in his journey through Cyprus history to the end of the first half of the twentieth century. In the process of the journey, he discovers more about his ancestry.
Yet, while there has been self determination for nearly all peoples around the world, this fundamental right was denied and frustrated by major outside powers.
What happened to this Mediterranean island in the second half of the 20th century was already set up by then, as shown in this book.
